ISO 21434
ISO/SAE 21434 defining cybersecurity engineering requirements for road vehicles across the lifecycle.
ISO/SAE 21434 sets out cybersecurity engineering requirements for the electrical and electronic systems of road vehicles across their whole lifecycle, from concept and development through production, operation, maintenance and decommissioning. It defines a risk-based approach to identifying, assessing and managing cybersecurity threats, and calls for cybersecurity to be built into engineering processes and managed across the supply chain.
The standard was developed jointly by ISO and SAE International and is widely used to support compliance with automotive cybersecurity regulation, in particular UNECE Regulation No. 155 on cybersecurity management systems. It is a process and engineering standard rather than a management system certification scheme.
