BitStaete secures MiCAR license with support from Anove, setting a new standard in digital asset management

We are thrilled to announce that BitStaete, one of our valued clients, has secured their MiCAR license from the Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM). BitStaete is now one of the first companies in the Netherlands to achieve this milestone, marking a significant step for regulated digital asset management in the EU.

Founded in 2021 by Derin Karim and Eric Nijkamp, BitStaete bridges the gap between traditional finance and digital assets. Their mission is to provide professional investors with secure and compliant investment strategies in this rapidly evolving field. With the MiCAR regulation now in place, BitStaete is leading the charge in this emerging industry.

Attaining the MiCAR license was no small feat. It required navigating complex regulations and refining their compliance framework. That’s where Anove stepped in. We worked closely with BitStaete to simplify and tailor their approach to fit their specific needs, ensuring they remained aligned with both MiCAR and DORA regulations.

As Derin pointed out, “Compliance is always a collaboration with regulators. They make us aware of the risks we face, and that is very valuable.” He also highlighted how the Anove platform helped BitStaete streamline their compliance processes, keeping everything organized and easy to track.

This achievement also opens up new opportunities for BitStaete, giving them access to the full EU market and enhancing trust with investors. Derin noted that securing the MiCAR license has already led to new partnerships and client relationships with asset managers and family offices.

BitStaete’s journey proves that with the right expertise and tools, compliance is not only achievable but can be a key driver for success in the digital asset space. We are excited to continue supporting BitStaete as they lead the way in regulated digital asset management.
